For over a decade, Wine Access, a pioneer in offering exclusive wine selections, has trusted JBS Dev to navigate the complexities of digital transformation. Recently, they approached us with a new challenge: how to leverage Generative AI to revolutionize their email marketing campaigns, maintaining their unique brand voice while enhancing efficiency and scalability. Understanding the Challenge

Wine Access's success relies heavily on its meticulously curated email campaigns, which drive over half of its revenue through limited time offers. However, the manual effort required to craft content for these campaigns has become a significant bottleneck, especially when introducing new wineries. The brand aspired to utilize Generative AI technologies, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs), to automate content creation without sacrificing their distinctive voice, inspired by the narrative style of Anthony Bourdain.

Our task was not just about implementing AI; it was about ensuring that this technology could capture the essence of Wine Access's brand, enabling them to expand their offerings without the constraints of traditional content production.

Tailoring the Solution

We embarked on a controlled experiment focusing on the email story. Unlike other firms that relied solely on prompt engineering with ChatGPT, our strategy was rooted in model training and fine-tuning, closely aligned with the project's specific requirements.

This experiment divided Wine Access's email campaigns into four test groups, allowing us to measure the effectiveness of AI-generated content against traditional methods directly. Our goal was to match the brand's voice and enhance the efficiency and scalability of their marketing efforts.

Multiple solutions were used across AWS to achieve our goal, with versions of the model trained and hosted on SageMaker and then Bedrock (as new versions of it were released) and connecting to the customer’s Aurora RDS databases.

This success has encouraged Wine Access to integrate AI further into its marketing strategy, significantly reducing the reliance on external content creators and more than doubling content creation throughput for new products.
